Family Picture

So here it is... our first family picture. This is the first time we were all in a picture together since the girls were born!

Here is the link to check out all the pictures.

"Home"

I am all grown up with my own family and live in Colorado, but I still call Upper Michigan my home. As a teenager I could not wait to leave that little town of Iron Mountain and get to a city. Through my time in college, I began to realize what a wonderful place the UP is and how much it has to offer and just how comfortable I feel when I am there.

We took a two week vacation back there to visit our family and enjoy the fall colors. It had been 14 months since our last visit. Robert and I drove around and got that weird feeling when you have not been someplace for so long. Buildings were gone and new business where in their places. So many things can change in a year, but there is a steadfastness about the Iron Mountain/Kingsford area that will always make it feel like home. But maybe "home" for me is where my mom is. For me, my mom represents stability and it is a struggle to be so far away from her. But through this struggle over the years, God has challenged me and continually reminds me that He is what brings stability in my life and He is steadfast and contentment comes from resting in Him. While we where home, we played outside and went the park, picked out and carved pumpkins, played in the leaves, went to camp, rode 4wheelers, Radley went fishing, spent time with family and friends, celebrated my 30th birthday, and ate way too much food. I think the best part was watching my children interact with their grandparents and great grandparents. There were so many pictures, so I put them in a slide show.
